Show Notes

What if God calls you to share the truth of who He is to people in another country? Would you be willing to give everything up to follow His guidance and see what He has for you to do there? On this week’s edition my guest, British-born Peter Thomas, did just that. After an encounter at an orphanage in Mexico when he was a young teenager, Peter couldn’t shake the desire to find justice for oppressed children. His journey of faith has taken to him to Brazil where he is now the Director of YWAM (Youth With a Mission) Fortaleza. Peter’s story is one of radical obedience and simple trust. He shares how he explored different countries looking for the right place for ministry, until Brazil became his home. Peter and his wife, Selma, have worked with children who were living on the streets, by taking them into their home. Over the years they have had 27 young men living with them. Learn how football (or soccer!) became the language of love, and how Peter was able to share the gospel with so many boys. We hear how this vitally important project helped, but we’ll also learn of the harrowing truth of life for many young men in this part of Brazil. This ministry is developing into one that reaches deep down to the very heart of the issue behind homeless and displaced children. Join us to find how you can learn from Peter and how you can partner with YWAM Fortaleza in this fundamental venture that is literally changing lives for the better.
